From April 30th to May 2nd, 2019, scientists in the field of computing met in Alghero, Sardinia in Italy to discuss the latest advancements and present papers. Mario Kovač, Director of the HPC Architecture and Application Research Center and Chief Communications Officer of the European Processor Initiative, attended the conference and presented EPI’s industrial plans.
He presented the drivers of the EPI proposal, EPI vision and mission and interplay with the European Union’s Joint Undertaking, the EuroHPC. During the EU Projects session, prof. Kovač explained the roadmap of EPI and how the partners are planning to achieve what is in the center of EPI’s strategy – European independence in HPC.
